Alhamdulillah, we have changed and saved over 117 million lives since 1984.

By responding to disasters, rebuilding lives and preparing people in case disaster strikes – we save lives before they are lost.

Our global reach enables us to distribute lifesaving aid in some of the most hard to reach areas such as remote villages and in active conflict zones.

We are there now, saving lives

Inside Syria, our teams have been on the ground since the war began, and are still there now. In 2016 alone, Islamic Relief delivered £30.5 million worth of aid, providing food, water and essential winter supplies to help 2.8 million vulnerable people.

Drought and famine has left 22 million people in desperate need across East Africa, Islamic Relief is on the ground responding. We have committed £5 million to short-term and long-term lifesaving projects, such as providing emergency food and medical aid, and water projects such as borehole construction.

Throughout the escalating conflict in Yemen, we have continued to distribute lifesaving aid to ease the suffering of some the most vulnerable people. We are proud to be one of the biggest NGOs in Yemen, saving lives in 18 of the country’s 22 governorates.

You are a lifesaver

Since 1984, we have been saving lives whenever major humanitarian disasters have struck.

As the largest international aid agency in Gaza, we’ve been there saving lives for the last 23 years. Within hours of the 2008 war erupting, we were on the ground distributing aid with an immediate response totalling R64 million to help with emergency relief and rebuilding efforts.

Your donations helped us to assist 100,000 people in some of Myanmar’s most isolated areas as violence swept across the country in 2012.

After the most destructive floods to date in Pakistan in 2010, we spent R147 million to rebuild homes and lives for more than 300,000 people who lost everything. In the same year, a devastating earthquake tore through Haiti. We were one of the first on the ground delivering aid, and your donations helped us change and save tens of thousands of lives.

Saving lives since 1984

Islamic Relief began by responding to the famine in Sudan in 1984. Since then we have also delivered lifesaving aid in response to crisis and disaster such as the Bosnian war and the siege of Sarajevo in 1992, the Battle of Grozny in Chechnya in 1995 and the Asian Tsunami of 2004.

We’ve changed and saved millions of lives

“Whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” [Qur’an, 5:32]

Without the grace of Allah (SWT) and your donations we could not have done all of this.

Thank you, you are a lifesaver.
