This position coordinates all aspects of IRSA’s Human Resources activities and supports a broad range of disciplines including:

Payroll, Payroll Tax, Time and Attendance, Training and Development, Recruitment and Selection, Health and Safety, Insurance,

Industrial Relations, Organisational Policy, System Administration and act as an Employee Liaison to Senior Management.

The position reports to the Head of Department of Finance and Support services acting as a support function, and works closely with all other HOD’s.

The HR Coordinator works directly with all 3rd party vendors who provide products and systems used in our HR functions.

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, the relevant Degree with a reputable tertiary institution and 3 – 5 years independent and generalist experience and an in depth understanding of the NGO environment.
  • Have a good understanding and empathy with the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to IRW’s vision and mission.

The role will require you to develop and implement strategies to increase the funding income of Islamic Relief through a range of fundraising initiatives. The post holder will create awareness and as a result, instigate and support community activities to raise money for the specified cause. The post holder will establish and maintain contacts – donors, volunteers, local community leaders & external organisations. The job holder will ensure that local fundraising events, activities and collections etc (including outreach collections) run effectively and are well planned, marketed and supported. She or he will draw up and implement regional annual/campaign/activity plans with line managers according to agreed objectives and budgets.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of a community-based role. The candidate will have a broad understanding of fundraising techniques and the specific value, role and techniques utilised within community fundraising activity. The post holder will have ability to formulate own ideas and action plans. Islamic Relief South Africa is looking to recruit a Regional Programmes Officers for Regional Offices.

 

The role will require you to identify, develop and implement humanitarian projects aimed at the upliftment of the region driven by the programmes strategy of Islamic Relief South Africa.   The post holder will spearhead regional programming through identification of opportunities for project development and institutional fund-raising. The post holder will also participate in regional humanitarian and/or stakeholder meetings for enhanced institutional visability and fund-raising. The job holder will co-ordinate monitoring, evaluation and learning for regional projects in liaison with the programme team, implementing partners and IRSA and M&E Team. S/He will provide the general management of multiple regional projects in liaison with sector leads and/or HOD.

 

The successful candidate will have previous experience of a similar role, the relevant degree and/or diploma and an in depth understanding of community and sustainable development issues in an NGO environment. The candidate will have a broad understanding of and proven track record of field work experience in developing countries in rehabilitation, development and emergency contexts. The post holder will have ability to formulate own ideas and action plans. The candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the local region and community. Forming an integral part of the leadership team, the responsibility of the Head of Fund Development is to lead, develop and co-ordinate the fundraising activities by effectively and efficiently managing a team of fundraisers nationally utilizing a strategy of income generating activities devised by him/herself aiming to meet or surpass the income target. Along with this the incumbent is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all of the organization’s fund development strategies both external and internal directing the efforts of fundraising at strategic and tactical levels utilizing the fund development team as well as a vast network of existing and newly acquired volunteers. The successful candidate will be abreast of all current affairs affecting the NGO sector nationally and internationally.

The HOD of Programmes will be responsible for the overall management responsibility for IRSA’s projects in the country and ensuring the organization is focused on the socio-economic and humanitarian needs of vulnerable people.

The successful candidate will manage the increase of the organisation’s ability to tackle poverty by developing and fostering partnerships and institutional relationships effectively and proactively, and by ensuring transparent and timely reporting to the organisation’s donors.

You should be able to lead, manage and develop all programmes staff nationally order to ensure that each regional field office is capable of fully achieving its agreed targets.

The main purpose of this job is to develop and implement regional strategies to increase the funding income of Islamic Relief through a range of fundraising initiatives and through acquisition and retention of volunteer fundraising team & supporters. The successful candidate should be skilled enough maximise IRSA’s income from regional community networks, outreach networks and other community groups and individuals by developing, designing and implementing a sustainable community fundraising & volunteering strategy and also ensuring that Islamic Relief’s image and communication are in line with systems, values and objectives of the organization and reflect the culture of the organization when promoting the brand amongst media platforms.

The RFM would have regular and consistent contact with sub staff within the department in order to set, monitor and manage their tasks.
